Both from South Wales, Thomas and Elizabeth came first to Pennsylvania and then to Utah and Idaho.

Thomas John Davis was born in Neath, Glamorganshire, Wales, in 1820. His bride Elizabeth Williams was born in Ystradgynlais, Breconshire, Wales, in 1932. Two of their seven children were born in Samaria.:

Edwin G. Davis (b. 1873 in Samaria, d. 1934), Army attorney, West Point professor, legal scholar and and Idaho politician; (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/121743277/edwin-griffith-davis).

Ephraim Rees Davis (b. 1875 in Samaria, d. 1929 in Modesto, California), business manager, financier and entrepreneur.

Also born in the Samaria cabin, their great-granddaughter Olive May Davis Osmond, (b. 1925 in Samaria, d. 2004 in Utah), mother of the musical Osmond family; (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/8736667/olive-may-osmond). The Osmond family contributed substantially to the reconstruction of the cabin in 2008-12.

Many descendants farmed in the valley for five generations. Others have dispersed worldwide as far as Singapore.
