Sitemaker CMS
CIP Sitemaker in the Newsroom
Sitemaker gives publishers the tools to send their message without the need to learn esoteric and rapidly changing layout and navigation techniques.

There are two easy "news" vehicles. The first is a web log or blog.. Blogs are discussed elsewhere in the site. The other is a newsletter or news feature (like this page) consisting of various aggregations of articles. The newsletter format is normally used for longer articles with optional illustrations and internal subheadings, while blogs are used for ad hoc commentaries.

Each Sitemaker user can create "document lists" ("article lists") within pages. These document lists act as a secondary table of contents. In this case we've created a newsletter, but document lists can also be used to publish reports, case studies, biographies, scientific papers...

Each page of a "document" or "article" can be manipulated as any other page with multiple text and graphic components, laid out to the user's preference. Blog pages have a fixed layout.

Individual articles work just like ordinary pages; the difference is that they're grouped by topic and sorted chronologically or as the editor decides. Easily add text, graphics or other content just by typing or uploading. As with other parts of the system, HTML users can expand on the built-in flexibility of Sitemaker to embellish text or position elements of a page.

If you publish a newspaper or magazine, consider building it on our companion Journalmaker™ platform, which surrounds Sitemaker with extra features especially for news publishing, including tools to manage authors, sections, editions and advertising.
